The man had allegedly molested the 10-year-old girl last night at an isolated place at Solaiyur village, police said.
On coming to know about the incident, enraged villagers nabbed the man, tied him to a tree and beat him whole night.
On information, police rushed to the village this morning and rescued the man and arrested him.
The girl had been sent to the Government Hospital at Bodi for medical check up, police added.
