A minor blast at an underground cable of a power utility company triggered panic in the central part of the city on Sunday evening, Police said.
A small portion of a pavement, adjacent to Stephen House building in B B D Bagh area, caved in as a result of the minor blast which occured at around 6:30 pm, they said.
There was no report of any injury or casualty in the incident.
The movement of vehicular traffic was not affected as personnel of the power utility company, along with police and fire brigade were working to repair the damaged stretch.
Senior police officers went to the spot to probe the reasons behind the blast.
