Desia and the victim reside in Dadar area of central Mumbai and knew each other for several years, they said.
The accused is son of a businessman and lives in a plush housing society in Tardeo.
He was arrested from Vadodra in Gujarat and booked under relevant sections, including 307 (attempt to murder), 376 (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman), of IPC, and POCSO Act and IT Act, police said.
