Paresh Majhi, who works as a 'Sikshya Sahayak' in Barapada nodal school at Ramachandrapur village in Jajpur district, raped the girl since the past several months while she had gone to him to take private tuition, they said.
The incident came to light after the minor girl became pregnant. The girl revealed her ordeal to her mother after which her father complained to the headmaster of the nodal school, police said.
When the news appeared in local press, members of the District Child Welfare Committee (DCWC) and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) conducted a joint inquiry and lodged a complaint with the Binjharpur police against the accused teacher on Monday.
