Led by officer-in-charge of Shikaripara police station S K Sumar, a police team was on their routine patrolling when they came across three persons travelling on a motorcycle last night, Inspector Vishnu Prasad Chaudhury said.
The three miscreants started to flee leaving the two-wheeler on seeing the patrolling team. The patrolling team gave them a chase and arrested one Shivdhan Murmu, the Inspector said adding that Murmu's two accomplices - Thakur Marandi alias Topna Koda and Somlal Marandi managed to escape.
A hunt was launched to apprehend the two, who were at large, he said adding that the trio were planning to demand levy from crusher operators of the area.
