A team of Excise and Police department had arrested three liquor mafia during raids yesterday, later the miscreants associated with them started pelting stones and freed the three accused from the police custody, police said today.
Sub Inspector Sanjay Verma, woman constable Archana, Constable Dinesh, Anup, Vishnu, Vipin, Ajay Sharma and Raman Singh were among who were injured and shifted to a near by hospital, they said.
District authorities have started a drive against liquor supply in the wake of general elections, they said.
