Hari Chand Yadav Rao Mahare, a resident of Chichala in Ramtek area of Nagpur, was apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) near a ditch-cum-bund along the International Border near village Allah in Arinia sector here on Saturday.
He was handed over to Arnia police station for questioning, a police spokesman said, adding he initially looked "mentally weak" and with the help of one Marathi- speaking BSF Jawan, his identity and address was traced out.
The police made a contact with Station House Officer of police station Ramtek Inspector Yogesh Pardi and came to know that Mahare was missing from his house for the last 20 years.
The spokesman said the police handed him to his family after completing all the formalities.
