Mizoram will draw additional power during Christmas and New Year festivities, state Power and Electricity department engineer-in-chief L Pachuau said.
The additional power would be drawn on December 24 to December 26 and again from December 31 to January 2, 2016 through the Indian Energy Exchange, Pachuau said.
"We would purchase average additional power to the tune of 1.8 lakh units per day during the six days," he said.
Superintending Engineer, State Load Dispatch Centre, however, Vanlalrema said that the number of units drawn could be variable and would depend on power situation.
