Two MLAs today sent a privilege notice to Assembly Speaker against the Officer-on-Special Duty (OSD) in the chief minister office for sending their names as proposer and seconder of thanks motion on Governor's address to the joint sitting of Bihar Legislature.
The two MLAs Rajesh Kumar Singh and Dawood Ali, whose names have been sent to Assembly secretary as proposer and seconder respectively, said that their consent was not taken for sending names for the purpose.
The Speaker is the head of House Privilege committee.
"OSD Rakesh Kumar has sent a letter to Assembly Secretary name me as proposer on vote of thanks on Governor address on February 20 without asking or taking consent from me," Rajesh Kumar Singh, MLA from Balmikinagar in West Champaran said.
Dawood Ali, JD(U) MLA from Dumroan in Buxar district, said he could give vote of thanks speech only if the Governor reads the speech prepared by Nitish Kumar government and not of anybody else or any other party.
Both the MLAs said they were members of JD(U) and their leader was Nitish Kumar.
"Jitan Ram Manjhi has been expelled from the party and declared an unattached member so how can we extend thanks on speech prepared by an unattached member," Singh and Ali said.
They accused CMO OSD of "maligning" their names and sought stringent action against the officer.
