MNS chief Raj Thackeray had reportedly cleared the name of corporator Shailesh Patil for the membership of standing committee, but the local leaders sprang a surprise at the last minute by pushing through the candidature of Rajashri Naik.
This annoyed the party leadership, sources said.
State secretary of MNS Shirish Sawant today announced, within hours of election, that Thackeray had expelled the corporators Sudha Chavan, Tejaswini Chavan and Rajashri Naik from the party.
