Mob attacks Meghalaya police station

The mob pelted stones at the police injuring a few of them, set a motorbike on fire and damaged two police patrol vehicles in the three-hour siege.

Eyewitnesses said the sub-inspector, Lurshai Sten, assaulted the truck driver at about 3 pm for allegedly violating traffic rules, the sources said.

Sten has been placed under suspension later, the sources said.
