: After several weeks of scorching summer, this district experienced moderate rain today, bringing down the temperature to tolerable levels.
PWD officials said there was also an increase in water level in the dams and added that the rains would help overcome the drinking water shortage during summer.
Ambasamuthiram, Seranmadevi and Mukkoodal pathamdai were among the areas which experienced rains.
Madurai city also experienced drizzles this morning and the sky remained overcast since this morning.
