Moderate rains across sub-Himalayan West Bengal

Districts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal received moderate rainfall, while there was little or no precipitation in southern part of the state, leading to warm and humid weather today.
Jalpaiguri received 38.4 mm rainfall, the highest in West Bengal in 24 hours since yesterday morning, the Met department said.
The hill town of Darjeeling received 26.8 mm rainfall, it said.
In the southern districts, only Burdwan received moderate rains, recording 14.2 mm precipitation.
Diamond Harbour recorded the state's highest day temperature at 35.7 degrees Celsius, while Kolkata was warm and humid at 33.6 degrees Celsius.
The sub-Himalayan districts are likely to receive one or two spells of rain in the next two days, the Met department said.
The southern districts are likely to be cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, it added.
