Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the first modern revenue archive of the state has been set up at the Mini Secretariat in Kaithal to preserve records.
Such modern archives will be established throughout the state, he said after inspecting the one at Kaithal.
The chief minister lauded the efforts made by Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Joon and other senior officers for setting up the archive, an official release said.
The revenue archive has the capacity to preserve two lakh files and the district administration has fixed a target to scan one lakh files for preservation, out of which 25,764 files have been already indexed, it said.
This archive has 4,400 boxes and each box has the capacity to keep 45 files in which a three-tier bar code system has been implemented, the release said.
Bar coding of every file, box and rack has been done, it said.
The chief minister told that an applicant can open a file by using any one of the eight parameters developed by the District Informatics Centre.
The process, Khattar was informed, would take five minutes and would help in saving time, preserving the record, and making accessible any time.
