Modi govt real HMV of RSS: Cong

The Modi government is the real HMV (His Masters Voice) of the RSS, the Congress said today attacking plans by Doordarshan to telecast live tomorrow the Dussehra address by Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat.
"This government is the real HMV- His Masters Voice! The HMV is not the prime minister, but the biggest remote control in Indian political history- RSS, which sits in Nagpur!", Singhvi told reporters when asked about the scheduled telecast on the public broadcaster.
Insisting that the move was against law and ethics, he said that the Modi dispensation set a precedent last year by starting the telecast and was now following the "wrong precedent".

"State media is being misused for propaganda" of an organisation, which could not be called a cultural organisation, he said stressing that the development was "very unfortunate".
The RSS describes itself as a cultural outfit devoted to the betterment of the nation and upholding Hindu values; it is the ideological parent of the ruling BJP.
The annual Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra speech in Nagpur by its chief articulates RSS's vision and agenda for its volunteers.
