BSF DIG I K Mehta said an alert has been sounded and vigilance increased along the border areas to ensure security.
The force is always on alert, but sometimes special alerts are sounded to keep check on any possible suspicious movements in the border areas, he said.
Under the arrangement, patrolling has been intensified and senior officers from the headquarters positioned at the borders.
The oath-taking ceremony will be held in the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan and will be witnessed by nearly 4000 invitees, including Paksitan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other heads of state and government of SAARC nations.
