Modi will campaign for one more day in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and two more days in Delhi, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, adding there have been several requests from the party units of these states.
In Delhi, where he was seen to be reluctant to associate himself and was earlier scheduled to spend only a day for campaigning, Modi will now dedicate two more days.
Naqvi said Modi was to hold two to three rallies in the national capital on November 30. However, now he will have a night stay on November 30 and campaign on December 1 as well. He will also be here on November 23 for a few hours to campaign for the party.
He was keen on this decision as he felt the self- projection of state unit chief Vijay Goel as the face of the party in Delhi was harming the BJP's electoral prospects, sources said.
Modi also did not attend the Central Election Committee meeting which decided the candidates for Delhi. There were murmurs that he wants to distance himself from the Delhi polls as BJP's prospects were grim.
The Gujarat chief minister will campaign in Madhya Pradesh for five days now.
In Chhattisgarh, Modi will campaign on November 14 and 15. He has already campaigned in the state on November 7.
Modi will address rallies in Rajasthan on November 19, 24, 25 and 28.
However, he is not going to hold any road shows, ostensibly due to the security risk involved.
