The decision was taken after a meeting of the club officials and the technical committee comprising former players Sibaji Banerjee, Compton Dutta and Satyajit Chatterjee.
"The technical Committee will meet Bhowmick soon to finalise the team for the next season," Mohun Bagan said.
It's learnt that Mohun Bagan are in talks with Shillong Lajong forward Cornell Glenn, a 2006 World Cupper from Trinidad Tobago, and Nigerian Sony Norde who impressed in the IFA Shield with Bangladeshi outfit Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club.
Bhowmick, who parted ways with Mohun Bagan in 2010-11 after a stint, went on to win the I-League with Churchill Brothers in 2012-13.
Bhowmick left Churchill last season only to reunite in later stages to revive their fortunes as they saved relegation narrowly.
Without a trophy since 2009, Mohun Bagan, who finished eighth this season, will announce an AFC A licence holder coach soon to make their 10th appointment in six seasons.
