A total of 4231 students from Bihar have cleared the national scholarship test conducted across the country on November 17, Shahi told reporters.
Out of the 4231 students qualifying in the test, 3334 are boys and 897 girls with 320 of them hailing from Patna district, followed by 236 from East Champaran and 234 from Madhubani, the minister accompanied by principal secretary (education) Amarjeet Sinha, said.
A total of 70,716 students of standard eight had participated in the examination from Bihar, he said, adding in 2012 a total of 2808 students had cleared the test.
To continue getting the financial assistance, a student has to secure at least 55 per cent marks during the period.
