More than 19000 patients benefit under health insurance scheme

: More than 19,000 patients at Tiruneleveli Medical college hospital had benefitted over a three year period from the Rs 32 crore Chief Minister's health insurance scheme, Hospital dean Dr M D Tulasiram said today.
The scheme has also resulted in the hospital having an additional 498 beds, he told reporters.
The dean said 9680 of these 19,000 patients had undergone major surgeries under the scheme.
