Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel today met former president Pranab Mukherjee and discussed various political issues ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, sources said.
Goel's meeting with Mukherjee comes days after he met former prime minister Manmohan Singh.
The minister also invited Mukherjee to deliver a lecture organised in the memory of his father, former Delhi Assembly Speaker Charti Lal Goel, on September 1, the sources said.
Mukherjee said he would consider the invite, they said.
When contacted, Goel said his meeting with Mukherjee was a courtesy call and he was meeting several leaders as MoS Parliamentary Affairs.
