Affirming today's generation is mostly hooked to Hindi and Bengali film numbers, besides westerns, popular singer Raghab Chatterjee says if dished out in a refreshing way, Indian classicals can still rule the charts.
"Sad to note interest is not growing among today's children for Indian classical music. Most of the time they are into Hindi-Bengali film songs and English tracks," Raghab told PTI here.
"If you do it in a different way, if Indian classicals are communicated the way the present generation can relate to, they will be more hooked," the 'Khuda Jaane' singer said.
Raghab, who has already three fusion albums under belt, said he would continue to do more such innovations. "I will do another."
The FM channels should also do their bit with playing more and more classical tracks, he said after wooing the young audience at Parle Saraswati Vandana grand finale here.
This is our effort to promote art in this part of our country by roping in popular singers and stars and festivals which are integral to Bengal's psyche, a Parle spokesman said.
