Mother poisons her two children

A 30-year-old woman today allegedly administered poison to her children after they opposed to her illicit relationship in Baradari area here, police said.
Noorjahan served poison-laced tea to her 13-year-old daughter Alia and 15-year-old son Arbaz. After a while, she feld from the house in Jaagi Nawada locality, ASP Rajiv Malhotra said.
The two children were rushed to the district hospital by their father Sartaj Zariwala and their condition was stated to be serious, Malhotra said.
Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital D P Sharma said that the symptoms indicate consumption of poison.
Their mother was having an illicit relationship with a man named, Imran, with whom she eloped four months back, the ASP said.

Her children started protesting Imran's frequent vists to the house, he said.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Noorjahan and Imran, police said adding that efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
