The MoU for the establishment of two Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), one each at Budgam in central Kashmir and Changthang in Nyoma area of Ladakh, was signed in the presence of Governor N N Vohra and Director General, ICAR, S Ayyappan at Raj Bhavan here, an official spokesman said.
Vohra, who is also chancellor of SKUAST, congratulated the SKUAST-Kashmir and ICAR for signing the MoU and assured all possible support of Agriculture Department to the ICAR in the implementation of schemes which are aimed at enhancing the growth of agriculture and its allied sectors in the state.
The Governor thanked Ayyappan for establishing KVK Nyoma in a remote area of Changthang, saying this would go a long way in advancing the growth of agriculture and livestock and bring about a visible difference in the lives of people.
