MP: 1 dead, 34 injured in violence across Bhind on polling day

One person was shot dead while several others were injured in violence during the panchayat elections in the district today.
Prahlad Singh (40) was killed in an exchange of fire between two groups at Dapara under Ater police station area, while 34 others were injured in firing and stone-pelting incidents elsewhere, District Magistrate Madhukar Agnay said.
A man called Amar Singh was injured when unidentified persons fired at him at Sonalal Ka Pura. He was taken to Gwalior for treatment.
Mahesh Yadav, a candidate for sarpanch's post, and his son Rajesh sustained bullet injuries when two groups fired upon each other at Navlihar under Ater police station area.
After polling officials were attacked and vehicle of the sector magistrate was damaged, police opened fire in the rural Garia police post area. In the firing, a woman called Sunita and police constable Ravipratap were injured.
Surendra Sharma, whose son is a district panchayat member, was injured when unidentified people fired on him at Harrajpura under Badoi police station area.
District panchayat member Santosh Singh and his son Prahlad sustained serious injuries in a firing incident under rural Mihoni police station area. They were taken to Gwalior.
Further, more than dozen people, including a woman called Gayatri Bai (50), were injured in exchange of fire and stone pelting between two groups at Kamai under Foof police station area.
Reports of firing also came from Pulawali, Rur, Vilab, Mohan Singh ka Pura, Simra, Ranipura, Pipri, Pali, Goharkhurd and Mithanpura in the district.
Re-polling had been ordered in Rur, Pandhari, Naigadi, Ranipura and Surpura, said the district magistrate.
