A security guard on duty outside a bank here died Tuesday after his rifle discharged, police said.
Dinesh Rajawat's rifle went off and the bullet hit his head, killing him instantly, Sant Hiradaram Nagar Police Station in charge Ajay Mishra said.
The incident happened in the afternoon when the 32-year-old security guard was on duty at the main gate of the Mahanagar Cooperative Bank's branch here, he added.
"We do not know for now if the firing was accidental or whether Rajawat killed himself. A probe is underway," Mishra added.
