Chairman of scam-hit MP Education Board among 18 transferred in major bureaucratic reshuffle

Other senior bureaucrats given marching orders include the principal secretary to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred 18 senior IAS officers, including chairman of the scam-hit MPPEB and the principal secretary (PS) to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

A P Shrivastava, who was posted as the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) at the time of the scam, was transferred as Principal Secretary (Forests), in place of BP Singh, who has been posted as Principal Secretary (Home), a senior official said today.

Additional Chief Secretary M Upadhyaya, currently posted as Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), will be the new Chairman of the MPPEB. R K Swai, who was PS (Home), is the new APC.

Manoj Shrivastava has been removed as PS to the Chief Minister and moved to Commercial Taxes and Culture. He will be replaced by Iqbal Singh Bains, who will also have additional charge of PS (Aviation).

K K Singh, PS, Public Works Department, has been transferred in the same capacity to the Higher Education Department while PS (Women and Child Development Department) B R Naidu has been given charge of the SC/ST Welfare Department, the official said.

Other senior officials who have been given new postings in the reshuffle include Ashish Upadhyaya, posted as Officer on Special Duty (Treasury and Accounts) and ex-officio PS (Finance); J N Kansotia as PS (Women and Child Development); S B Singh as Secretary (Home); Shiv Shekhar Shukla as Secretary (Mining); and R K Mathur as Commissioner of Bhopal.

The others transferred include Ajatshatru Shrivastava as OSD (Archaeology and Museums), Neeraj Dube as Collector Khargone, Ravikant Jain as Additional Commissioner (Transport) and Shekhar Varma as Collector of Alirajpur, the official added.
