MPs demand direct train between Nagpur and Delhi

For the ease of passengers, Parliamentarians from the region have demanded a direct train between Nagpur and Delhi and new local train between Ramtek and industrial suburb Butibori near Nagpur.
The demands were raised in a consultation meeting of MPs from Nagpur and Bhusawal division called by the Central Railway General Manager here yesterday.
Out of the 11 Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs from the region, only five attended the meeting that included Lok Sabha MPs Jyoti Dhurve (Betul), Sanjay Dhotre (Akola), Prataprao Jadhav (Buldhana), and Krupal Tumane (Ramtek) and RS MP from Nagpur Ajay Sancheti.
General Manager of Central Railway (CR) Sunil Kumar Sood also presided over the meeting, a release from Nagpur division of CR issued here said.
The parliamentarians pushed for development of road side railway stations like Butibori and wanted that CR to start more trains from home platform on the east side of Nagpur station.
Shiv Sena MP Tumane (from Ramtek) demanded a direct local train between Ramtek and Butibori for the ease of hundreds of workers from Kanhan and Kamptee and suburbs who are employed in the industrial suburn Butibori.
He also said Butibori was fast developing and demanded that a full fledged reservation counter be opened at the station to cater to the needs of passengers.
Tumane also demanded for a direct train between Nagpur and Delhi, besides new trains from Mumbai and Pune be extended to newly developed Narkhed station, which comes under his constituency.
MP Sancheti in the meeting raised that the neglected east side of the Nagpur station needs to be developed and more passenger trains should be started from the home platform.
Betul MP Jyoti Dhurve demanded basic amenities for passengers in her backward region and installation of coach display system at the Betul railway station, the release said.
