MTNL posts Rs 718 cr loss for Apr-Jun

State-run telecom firm MTNL's standalone loss was at Rs 718.02 crore in the April-June quarter this year against that of Rs 734.24 crore in the same period a year ago.
Total income of MTNL during the reported quarter declined by 4.5 per cent to Rs 744.72 crore from Rs 780.12 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2015-16.
Income from basic and other services declined to Rs 612.74 crore in April-June 2016 from Rs 648.68 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenue from cellular services declined to Rs 163.01 crore from Rs 166.33 crore.
Shares of MTNL on last trading day closed at Rs 21.25 a unit, down by 2.97 per cent compared to previous close, at BSE.
