Brihanumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) today signed a memorandum of understanding with the US-based Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for a collaboration in tuberculosis prevention.
"In order to curb the spread of tuberculosis in the city, we need to collaborate with various organisations," BMC Commissioner Sitaram Kunte said after signing the MoU.
BMC had been efficiently implementing a programme to control MDR (medically drug resistant) TB, he said.
As per the MoU, Gates Foundation would provide technical and financial support for TB prevention for three years.
