Several vehicles and media vans were torched at Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus and Azad Maidan today when a rally protesting the Assam violence turned violent.
The police fired rounds in air to disperse crowds, who indulged in stone pelting, torching vehicles.
However, there was no report of any casualty.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Azad Maidan Ground in South Mumbai this afternoon following a call by a city-based organisation Raza Academy to denounce the violence in Assam.
Azad Maidan Ground is located near Mumbai civic body headquarters and CST Mumbai railway station.
