Mustardseed prices rose by Rs 31 to Rs 3,844 per quintal in futures trading today as traders widened positions, taking positive cues form the domestic spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in April gained Rs 31, or 0.81 per cent to Rs 3,844 per quintal, having an open interest of 55,270 lots.
Likewise, May contracts advanced by Rs 30, or 0.78 per cent to Rs 3,882 per quintal in an open interest of 17,190 lots.
Marketmen attributed rise in mustardseed prices at futures trade to strengthening of positions by speculators, supported by rising demand at the spot markets.
