Mustardseed futures up by Rs 39 per quintal

Mustardseed prices spurted by Rs 39 to Rs 3,350 per quintal in future trading today as participants created speculative positions amidst a firming trend at physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in April month contracts strengthened by Rs 39, or 1.18 per cent to, Rs 3,350 per quintal, with an open interest of 48,220 lots.
Also, delivery in May contracts moved up by Rs 37, or 1.11 per cent to Rs 3,385 per quintal, in an open interest of 13,750 lots.
Marketmen said speculative positions by specualtors following a firming trend at spot markets, mainly attribtued the rise in mustardseed prices at futures trade here.
