Cardamom prices eased by 0.48 per cent to Rs 853.50 per kg in futures trading today as participants trimmed positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market.
Furthermore, adequate stocks in the market on higher supplies from producing regions put pressure on cardamom.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month June eased by Rs 4.20, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 853.50 per kg in a business turnover of 39 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in July shed Rs 2.40, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 877 per kg in 12 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions due to low demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly weighed on cardamom prices at futures trade.
