Muzaffarnagar riots: Court issues show cause notice to hostile complainant

A local court has issued a show cause notice against a complainant for giving false evidence and turning hostile in a murder case at Lank village here during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.
Additional District Sessions judge Arvind Kumar Upadhya yesterday issued the show cause notice to Ikbal under rpt Section 344 (false evidence) of CrPC in a murder case.
The court also fixed March 5 for replying to the notice.
According to the prosecution, ten persons accused in the case were acquitted after the complainant turned hostile.
They were accused of burning a 30-year-old woman and a boy (10) alive besides severely injuring another womanat Lank village in the district during the 2013 riots.
