Muzzafarnagar: 8 quintal of adulterated sweets seized

In raids ahead of Diwali, about eight quintals of adulterated sweets were seized by district authorities at Charthawal town in the district.
According to district official Rajender Singh, eight quintals of adulterated white 'rasgulla' which were allegedly for sale during the festival were seized yesterday following raids at two confectioneries.
He said that samples have been collected from the two sites and sent for tests while the sweets seized have been destroyed.
Action would be taken against after the reports regarding the samples is received, he added.
