Myanmarese woman arrested with heroin in Mizoram

A 55-year-old woman was arrested with 72.5 gm of heroin worth Rs 2.2 lakh in the international market during a raid at Phunchawng village near here, officials said today.
Engzami was arrested in this connection after the drug was seized from her last night, Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials said.
The accused was later found to be a Myanmarese from Khawpual village, they said, adding the heroin was smuggled from Myanmar to sell in Aizawl, they said.
The woman was booked under relevant Sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985, they said.
