N R Wasan appointed DG of Police Research & Development Bureau

Senior IPS officer Navneet Rajan Wasan was today appointed as Director General of Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).
Wasan, a 1980-batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed to the post till the date of his superannuation, i.E. November 30, this year, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.
Wasan is at present working as Special Director General in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The post of DG, BPR&D had been lying vacant since March this year following the retirement of Rajan Gupta.
In another appointment, Indian Postal Service (IPoS) officer Sheuli Burman has been appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in the Indian Telephone Industries (ITI), Bangalore.
Burman, a 1990-batch IPoS officer, has been appointed for an initial period of three years, it said.
