The Goa government on Thursday said the New Delhi-based NABARD Consultancy Services will prepare an action plan on climate change for the state.
Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral said in the Assembly that the state-level steering committee has asked NABARD Consultancy Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD, to prepare the 'Goa State Action Plan on Climate Change' and a detailed project report.
Responding to a question on fundings for the report, Cabral, in a written reply, said the steering committee for climate change has already approached the Union environment ministry to seek grants and assistance.
Goa has proposed revival and restoration of vulnerable inland riverine areasand coastal ecosystem to acclimatise to the changing climate, the minister said.
