The passport office would serve the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
He said he has received a communication from Swaraj on the decision taken by her ministry in this regard.
"We thank the External Affairs minister for her decision to have passport office in Vijayawada. The Centre is committed towards the comprehensive development of AP by allocating central institutions and also providing funds for various projects," he said.
He said a shipyard project to be developed by Dredging Corporation of India was not specified in the Act.
On the occasion, he announced that the foundation stone for the 200-bed ESI hospital at Visakhapatnam would be laid on Monday by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Naidu the hospital project was also not a part of the AP Re-organisation Act.
