Narnaul coldest at 1.6 deg C as cold wave sweeps Har & Punjab

Narnaul in Haryana was the coldest place in the plains as ongoing cold wave conditions continued unabated in the state and neighbouring Punjab today.
Narnaul's minimum settled four notches below normal while Hisar also reeled under biting cold at a low of 4 degrees Celsius, which was three notches below normal.
Cold conditions also swept Karnal at 5 degrees Celsius, down two notches while Ambala recorded a low of 6.7 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh experienced a cold night at 5.6 degrees Celsius, down two degrees than normal, the MeT Department here said. However, a bright sunshine during the day greeted the residents of the Union Territory.
In Punjab, Amritsar reeled under severe chill at a low of 2.2 degrees Celsius, down two notches while Ludhiana also experienced a cold night at 4.2 degrees Celsius, down three notches than normal.
Patiala recorded a low of 6.7 degrees Celsius.
