Enthused by the success of Super30, a private educational programme to help economically poor students for IITs, NASA scientist Neil Pundit visited the institution and interacted with the students.
Pundit is a recipient of Lunar Landing Award for the first moon landing in 1969 and Mars Landing Award for the first Mars landing in 1976.
The NASA scientist is presently department manager, Scalable Computing Systems, Sandia National Labs, US, and has been working on system software and upcoming supercomputing system.
He met the students late last evening and discussed the various facets of his work, including super computing and space research and ways to be successful in life.
Pundit during his interaction with the students stressed on the importance of concentration by drawing a connection between science and spiritualism.
Lauding the institution run by Anand Kumar, a mathematician, he said "I had heard and read a lot about Super 30 and so when I planned a trip here, I made it a point to visit it. It is indeed a remarkable place, where so many young students are preparing for IIT-JEE."
Anand Kumar said personalities like Neil Pundit inspire the youth.
Super 30 has been successfully working the last 12 years. In the current year 28 out of 30 students qualified in IITs.
