Nashik awaits good monsoon as water reservoirs dry up

Only three per cent water is remaining in reservoirs in Nashik district and to top to the woes, there has been adequate rainfall this month till date, as per official figures.
Only 2,117 mcft water stock is there in Nashik district's 23 reservoirs, including 16 medium and seven major.
In the major Gangapur dam, the main source for the city, just 10 per cent water is remaining, leading to a worrying situation for the district administration.
In Gangapur dam, only 972 mcft water (10 per cent) is remaining. The dam's capacity is 5,630 mcft.
The people, especially farmers, are anxiously awaiting good rains, sources at the collector office said today.

The Nashik district, having 15 tehsils, has recorded 621.2 mm rainfall from June 1 till date, as compared to 2,437.1 mm rainfall in the same period last year.
