"There is a need for the government to adopt a competition policy.
"We are convinced that a proper competition policy will ensure that manufacturing sector grows in a very healthy environment and most of all... So for the growth of the economy, competition policy appears to be a solution," Sinha said.
After discussions for many years, a draft national competition policy was prepared by the government in 2011.
Sinha was participating in a round table discussion on 'Adoption of National Competition Policy to Achieve Double Digit Growth in India' organised by advocacy group CUTS International here.
Member of Parliament K N Singh Deo, National Statistical Commission chairman Pronab Sen and CUTS International's Secretary General Pradeep S Mehta, among others, spoke during the discussion.
