The fifth Lok Adalat, held by National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), disposed of pre-litigation and pending cases relating to disputes over various matters, particularly those relating to public utililties like electricity, water and telephone services.
According to a NALSA statement, more than 93,000 pre- litigation cases and over 26,000 pending cases were settled in 26 States and Union Territories till 1700 hours today.
Besides, the parties were able to arrive at final settlements worth more than Rs 65 crore across the country.
The Lok Adalat in Delhi district courts has been postponed to August 13 due to the recent changes in holiday schedule.
