"A large number of people, especially youth across the country were engaged and consulted during drafting of the new policy... It aims to create a productive work force, develop a strong healthy generation, creation of infrastructure at block level, promotion of social values and support to youth at risk and equal opportunity," he said at an NCC function here.
The minister appreciated the commitment and contributions of NCC and said it promotes unique mix of scholastic education and multifaceted activities enabling all round development of young generation in the country.
The Republic Day Camp 2014 is being attended by 2070 cadets specially selected from 17 Directorates covering all the states and union territories and 82 foreign cadets from friendly foreign countries under the Youth Exchange Programme.
