Midiam Bheema was apprehended by a joint team of the state police's Special Task Force (STF) and District Force from a market under Dornapal police station, Additional SP Jitendra Shukla told PTI.
Dornapal is located at a distance of about 500 km from the state capital.
Acting on a tip-off, the security forces arrested Bheema, who reportedly admitted to be a member of the outlawed CPI(Maoist), the ASP said.
Bheema was wanted in connection with the murder of a villager at his native place Medwahi in 2008 and another murder in Gorgunda in 2010. He was also allegedly involved in an attack on a police team near Rangaiguda in 2010, he added.
