"The incident took place under Khadgaon police station limits of Rajnandgaon district while a polling party escorted by joint team of ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police) and the district police force was returning after polling in Kamkasur region," a senior police official said.
After the polling concluded at 3 pm in the Mohla- Manpur assembly segment of Rajnandgaon parliamentary constituency, the polling party escorted by security personnel was heading back when Naxal opened fire from a distance.
