Naxals kill former sarpanch in Chhattisgarh
Press Trust of India Raipur Naxals killed a former village sarpanch in the Maoist-affected Dantewada district of southern Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Bhagat Kunjam (48), a native of Dhurli village under Bhansi police station limits, was abducted from his house and murdered by the ultras late last night, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.
"The reason for the attack is not yet known," he said.
Kunjam's body was found on the outskirts of the village this morning.
A search for the attackers had been launched by the security forces, he added.
