NBCC to make a foray into e-commerce segment

State-run National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC) today said it is developing an e-commerce portal and will come up with it in next two months.
"The company is intending to foray into new business venture of E-commerce," NBCC said in a regulatory filing.
The services which NBCC will render comprises sale of built-up properties of NBCC - real estate business, government departments, financial institutions and private developers, the company added.
"The sale of properties belonging to private developers shall be subject to its due diligence in respect of title of land, approval of drawings from statutory bodies, quality and cost of building and its financing etc," the filing added.

When contacted, NBCC CMD Anoop Kumar Mittal said, "the company is working on an e-commerce portal and will come up with it in next two months."
NBCC is a blue-chip Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Urban Development, with consolidated revenue of Rs 5000 crore. The company is listed on both the stock exchanges and has an order book of more than Rs 20,000 crore.

The company mainly deals in three segments of project management consultancy (PMC), real estate development and EPC contracting.
The company has executed many projects as a PMC which contributes to about 70 per cent of its annual revenue.

As PMC the company deals in roads, hospitals, medical colleges, institutions, offices, airports, bridges, industrial structures etc.
The company has also executed various projects overseas in various countries including Turkey and Mauritius among others.
